When you have your parcel ready, you need to determine the length, width and height of the shipping box. The best tools for that are either a tape measure or a ruler. To get the length of your package, measure the longest side of the box. The width is the shorter side. Measure them by holding the ruler or tape measure up to the edges. To get the height of the box, place the ruler or tape measure vertically.
When using our shipping price calculator, be careful to type in these measures in the correct order: the length, the width and then the height.
The best way to weigh a package is to use a postage scale. If you don’t have one, you can use kitchen scales for small parcels. For larger packages, you can use bathroom scales. Firstly, stand on the scales without the package. Write down the number. Then, weigh yourself while holding the box in your arms. Note the weight. Subtract the first weight from this number and you’ll get the weight of your parcel.
